The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University has been recognized as an "Advanced Unit in Continuing Medical Education in Jilin Province" and an "Outstanding Collective in Community Health Staff Training in Jilin Province." The hospital's departments of Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cardiovascular Medicine, Orthopedics, Nephrology, General Surgery, Endocrinology, Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Dermatology and Venereology, and Emergency Medicine (Nursing) were among the first batch of provincial-level continuing medical education bases approved by the Jilin Provincial Health Department in 2010. These bases account for 37% of the total provincial bases, ranking first among all hospitals in the province.
Leveraging its educational resources and disciplinary strengths, the hospital applies to host over a hundred national, provincial, and university-level continuing medical education programs annually. As a provincial base, it also conducts training lectures for county-level regions in the province, with positive feedback received. To facilitate healthcare professionals in acquiring new knowledge, the hospital offers diverse and personalized training methods, such as distance learning and online learning, aimed at enhancing their technical skills and capabilities, as well as updating their medical knowledge and service concepts.
