They held discussions and exchanged ideas with Professor Bin Liu, Director of the department, and his team.
Professor Bin Liu introduced to the visiting international experts that the Department of Cardiology at The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University is a national key clinical specialty designated by the Ministry of Health and is recognized as the "Jilin Provincial Interventional Cardiology Center" by the Jilin Provincial Health Department. The department pioneered comprehensive cardiac interventional techniques in Jilin Province and has extensive clinical experience in treating critical and complex cardiovascular diseases, particularly accumulating rich experience in areas such as CTO and drug-coated balloons. As the leading department in the field of interventional cardiology in Jilin Province, Professor Liu also discussed possibilities and forms of international research collaboration with the experts. The visiting overseas experts introduced their respective research fields and specialized directions, exchanged opinions on how to carry out cooperation and communication, and during their visit, delivered academic lectures and toured the inpatient wards and operating rooms of the Department of Cardiology at The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University.

On March 15, Professor Andreas Baumbach from the Bristol Heart Institute visited and engaged in academic exchanges at the hospital. It is understood that Dr. Andreas Baumbach serves as a Consultant Cardiologist at the Bristol Heart Institute and is also an Honorary Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Bristol. He previously worked and studied at the University of Tübingen in Germany.
Dr. Andreas Baumbach is currently involved in clinical research on acute coronary syndromes and participates in the evaluation of the latest technologies in the field of interventional cardiology. He was the principal leader in the field of interventional cardiology for the NIHR Biomedical Research Unit at the Bristol Heart Institute in 2012.
Additionally, Dr. Andreas Baumbach is a member of the Council of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS) and has served as the Chair of the Training and Education Committee since 2011. As a board member of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), he was elected Secretary of EAPCI in 2014. On March 16, Professor Franz X Kleber from Klinikum Potsdam Teaching Hospital in Germany visited the hospital for a tour and discussion. It is reported that Prof. Franz X Kleber serves as the Director of the Heart and Vascular Center at Klinikum Potsdam Teaching Hospital in Germany. On March 16, Professor Dominick J. Angiolillo from the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville delivered a report titled "Optimal Antithrombotic Therapy for High-Risk ACS Patients Undergoing PCI: A Practical Perspective (and Personal Views)." Professor Angiolillo began by summarizing his approach to optimal antithrombotic therapy for stable CAD in one sentence—aspirin, clopidogrel, and UFH. He then provided a detailed interpretation of the optimal antithrombotic strategies for NSTEMI and STEMI based on clinical practical experience, large-scale clinical studies, and clinical guidelines.
It is reported that Dr. Angiolillo is a professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville. He is a cardiologist and interventional cardiologist at the University of Florida Health System, Director of the Cardiovascular Research Center, and Director of the Interventional Cardiology Research Program.
