(Wang Yika, Report) On July 8, Professor Hiroshi Makino, Executive Vice President of Okayama University, Japan, led a five-member delegation on a visit to our hospital. They were warmly received by Professor Zhang Xuewen, President of our hospital, Vice Presidents Professor Su Guanfang, Professor Zhu Xiaomin, and Professor Luo Yungang, as well as medical staff who had previously participated in training programs in Japan and directors of relevant departments.
At the reception meeting, Professor Zhang Xuewen and Professor Hiroshi Makino delivered addresses on behalf of our hospital and Okayama University, respectively. Professor Guo Jie from the Department of Radiation Oncology, representing the physicians who had undertaken training in Japan, also spoke at the event. The visiting delegation from Okayama University engaged in friendly exchanges and interactions with the directors of the departments where the Japan-trained physicians work.
The two parties also fully affirmed the implementation of the "CAMPUS Asia" program and the substantive achievements made in talent cultivation. Meanwhile, they discussed issues such as the joint training of young physicians and academic exchanges between The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University and Okayama University Hospital, reaching a consensus on future cooperation intentions.
Since the launch of the short-term training program for young physicians, our hospital has sent six physicians to Okayama University Hospital for a three-month study period. Upon their return, they brought back the professional knowledge and advanced concepts acquired abroad to our hospital and relevant departments in a timely manner, significantly enhancing the academic level and professional skills of our hospital in this field.
This program has played a positive role in promoting international inter-university exchanges for our hospital and broadening the academic horizons of young physicians. The departments that have already sent personnel include Urology, Radiation Oncology, Spinal Surgery, Endocrinology, Thoracic Surgery, and Gastrointestinal Surgery. The third batch of departments planning to send personnel includes Breast Surgery, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
After the meeting, the delegation from Okayama University of Japan also visited the ophthalmology department and the first-phase construction project of the Yatai campus of our hospital. They expressed sincere admiration and respect for our hospital's international academic status, advanced medical standards, and rapid development.
The exchange and visit of Okayama University of Japan to our hospital has concluded. Our hospital will take this exchange as an opportunity to further establish sustainable communication channels between the two universities and hospitals, implement simple and efficient dispatch procedures, and swiftly elevate our talent cultivation to a new level.
