Professor BingSing Teh from Cornell University, USA, visited the Department of Radiation Oncology at our hospital for academic exchange.

(Wang Na, Report) On the afternoon of August 19, Professor BingSing Teh, Deputy Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Houston Methodist Hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, Director of Stereotactic Radiotherapy for Research and Clinical Applications at Houston Methodist Hospital, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine, was invited to visit and conduct academic exchanges at the Department of Radiation Oncology of our hospital (The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University).

Professor BingSing Teh graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia, with a doctoral degree. He is a renowned American radiation oncologist, a member of the American Radium Society, and Chair of Radiation Oncology at the Texas Radiological Society. He has published over 200 SCI-indexed papers in the field of radiation oncology.

The academic exchange was presided over by Professor Wang Tiejun, Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at our hospital. From 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Professor BingSing Teh, accompanied by Professor Chen Yubing from our department, toured the medical and nursing working environments of the Department of Radiation Oncology, as well as the equipment and new technologies implemented in our department. From 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, an academic seminar was held in the conference room of the Information Exchange Center. The event was chaired by Director Wang Tiejun and attended by all doctors, nursing staff, medical physicists, technicians, and graduate students. Professor BingSing Teh provided a detailed introduction to the development of the Radiation Oncology Center at Weill Cornell Medicine, its academic research directions, and his own specialized research expertise.

During the seminar, Professor BingSing Teh engaged in a lively discussion with Director Wang Tiejun, Associate Professor Jia Xiaojing, Associate Professor Chen Yubing, Dr. Liu Zhongshan, Dr. Qiu Ling, medical physicist Zhang Zhiliang, and other participants on various aspects of precision oncology. The atmosphere was highly active, with attendees freely expressing their views. Professor BingSing Teh patiently addressed all questions raised and expressed admiration for the development and unique strengths of the Department of Radiation Oncology at The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University. Both sides also explored potential avenues and feasibility for further exchanges, including mutual visits and training programs for their respective personnel.

The exchange concluded in a vibrant discussion atmosphere. In his closing remarks, Director Wang Tiejun expressed gratitude to Professor BingSing Teh for his visit. This academic exchange not only deepened mutual understanding in the field of radiation oncology between China and the United States but also contributed to the rapid development of radiation oncology at our hospital. We look forward to further technical and academic exchanges and collaborations in the future.
