(Wang He, Report) On March 17, Professor Liu Bin, President of the Cardiovascular Disease Hospital of our institution, invited renowned Italian interventional cardiology expert Professor Francesco Prati for an academic exchange at our hospital. Nearly 30 medical staff attended the meeting. Professor Francesco Prati serves as the Director of the Cardiology Department at San Giovanni Hospital in Rome, Italy, a Professor of Cardiology at the University of Catania, and the Chairman of the CLI Foundation. He is a leading expert in standardized OCT procedures, has participated in experiments at several authoritative medical laboratories worldwide, and is one of the reviewers for globally recognized medical clinical journals.
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is an emerging optical scanning tomography technology developed in recent years, belonging to the field of "intramural imaging" diagnostic techniques. Our Cardiovascular Disease Hospital was the first to introduce this advanced technology and remains the only department in Jilin Province to carry out such sub-projects. OCT technology represents a new medical tomography method following X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound diagnostic techniques, and has rapidly advanced in coronary artery imaging examinations.
Through a PPT presentation, Professor Francesco Prati introduced the cutting-edge advancements in OCT technology, providing insights into the latest achievements from international clinical trial centers. This exchange has brought more precise and advanced analytical diagnostic methods to our clinical practice, enabling better application of OCT technology in clinical settings. By integrating with other diagnostic techniques such as angiography and FFR, it comprehensively optimizes PCI procedures and enhances the accuracy of clinical diagnosis and treatment.
