On August 14, a delegation led by former President Kiyoshi Morita of Okayama University, Japan, visited and exchanged insights at our institute's Yatai Campus.
President Liu Kexiang of the hospital met with President Kiyoshi Morita and his delegation. Both parties conducted a discussion in fluent Japanese on topics such as the scale and current status of The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University. They also exchanged in-depth views on jointly improving medical technology and talent cultivation, as well as further strengthening exchanges and cooperation. During the discussion, both sides expressed their expectation to establish an exchange program for young doctors to pursue further training at each other’s hospitals in the future, aiming for mutual development and joint advancement in the medical field.
The meeting concluded with President Liu Kexiang presenting a commemorative gift to President Kiyoshi Morita on behalf of the hospital, as a token of lasting friendship between the two institutions.
Following the discussion, accompanied by Pan Zhenxiang, President Assistant (Vice President-level) of the hospital, President Kiyoshi Morita and his delegation visited the hospital’s Anesthesia and Surgery Center and participated in the morning shift handover meeting of the Anesthesiology Department.
After the morning anesthesia meeting, President Kiyoshi Morita and his delegation entered the operating room to observe the anesthesia induction and arterial/venous puncture demonstration for a coronary artery bypass graft patient in the cardiovascular surgery department. President Kiyoshi Morita engaged in an on-site exchange with Pan Zhenxiang regarding the anesthesia induction for cardiac surgery patients.
Pan Zhenxiang also accompanied President Kiyoshi Morita on a visit to the advanced equipment and working environments in the hospital’s Radiology Department and Nuclear Medicine Department.
Finally, President Assistant Pan Zhenxiang accompanied President Kiyoshi Morita on a visit to the hospital’s Digestive Endoscopy Center, where they learned about the implementation of painless gastrointestinal endoscopy diagnosis and treatment.
Through the morning's visit and exchange, President Kiyoshi Morita expressed admiration for the rapid development of The Second Norman Bethune Hospital of Jilin University and extended his gratitude to President Liu Kexiang and President Assistant Pan Zhenxiang for their warm reception. Both parties look forward to building a collaborative hospital in the future, fostering deeper exchanges, mutual learning, and cooperation opportunities.
